toptop[TOP
At the SMart Center, we strive to provide a high-value service at all times.
Billing rate alone does not determine the value of our services. Factors such as the expertise of our professionals, the quality of our work, parent and child support and the speed with which the work is completed is a basis for our fees. x

We offer an array of services at the Smart Center including:
Child/teen Evaluations/treatment, Academic Assessments,  School on-site evaluations, trainings and IEP/504 development, Speech and Language Testing/Treatment, Workshops/in-services,

Fees differ depending upon  services requested and the professional administering  the service. ooo

Since treatment at the SMart Center is often shorter than in other locations and treatment occurs less frequently
(every 2-4 weeks) overall costs are often significantly lower than other treatment programs.

'PER SERVICE' CONSULTATION

per

For families or school personnel interested in a specific service or need,  i.e., school accommodation recommendations, (504 plans, IEP plans, school oriented questions) or treatment recommendations/questions, letter writing, expert testifying, second opinions, etc and other services that are not covered in the Initial Comprehensive Initial Consultation, a 'Per Service' Initial Consultation is available.

Fees for the 'Per Service' Consultation is based on time spent. Families and school personnel in need of specific recommendations will need to enable an evaluation for their child/student. Random strategies and tactics cannot be recommended since this will be of little value to the child.

Therefore, in order for Dr. Shipon-Blum or other professional staff of the SMart Center to provide the appropriate service,  time will need to be spent on the evaluation process. This includes the evaluation of the Selective Mutism Comprehensive Diagnostic Questionnaire (c) and The SM- School Evaluation Form (c) as well as other mutually decided assessment forms and/or review of past records.

For families or school personnel NOT wanting specific recommendations to a particular child, the ASK THE DOC Consultation (NON-Patient Consultation) may be more appropriate.

For the 'Per Service' consultation, families MAY need to supply a retainer fee; schools will need to provide a signed PO.

Typical Treatment Course for children/teens with Selective Mutism.

fu
There is an initial consultation for each patient needing treatment. This includes time with the parents and child.
Depending upon whether the family chooses a comprehensive or Per Service consultation will dictate the length of the consultation as well as what is provided at or following the consultation.

Follow Patients are typically seen every two weeks to monthly at the SMart Center and fees are dependent upon the professional providing the service.

Follow-up appointments include assessment of the SM Follow-Up Form (c)  and the SM School Evaluation Form (c), a one hour consultation and handouts and/or an Appointment Summary for each consultation.

For parents who are cost conscious, our rates and total fees are actually LESS than many other professionals when treatment is averaged out over time.
For example, if a child goes thru treatment for four months and is seen every two weeks:
---Costs for Dr. Shipon-Blum's treatment would include the cost for the initial consultation (Range: $585-$1695 depending upon requested service).
At $285 per follow up consultation at two times per month, PLUS two 30-min school consultations, costs would average $2565
---Costs for Licensed Psychologists, SLP's would range from $550-825.
At $210 per follow up consultation at two times per month, PLUS two 30-min school consultations, costs would average $1890.

Since treatment at the SMart Center is often shorter than in other locations and treatment occurs less frequently, overall costs are usually lower than one would expect!
